The retreat we had was actually a 3R@1, meaning 3 Anglican boards having their retreats together at the same time. It comprised of the Diocese Youth Board, Diocese Chinese Board as well as the Parish/Pastoral Workers Fellowship. We only discovered this when we reached St. Andrew's Cathedral on Tuesday morning. We really felt quite young too, since we were the youngest ones there:D The journey there was relatively smooth, no traffic jams and all, really thank God for the trip there. Had breakfast at one of the Malaysian coffee shops. We shared alot of dim sum and local won ton mee and fried kuay teow. Visited an organic fruit farm after that. The trip there took 1.5 hours and the trip back another 1.5 hours while the trip itself lasted for about 0.5hours. So while the planning of the itinery wasn't fantastic, the place itself was disappointing too! The restaurant wasn't open!!! ARGH! So we couldn't try any of their specialities besides the dragonfruit ice lolli which we had which tasted like water(?) and the texture was just a bit sticky. Oh well.

We checked into the hotel slightly past 3 after visiting A YO YO SOTONG STALL. One packet of sotong had the words Mr. Satan printed on it. HAHA. Had free and easy after that. We explored the shopping centre adjacent to our hotel. Didn't have too many bargains: the prices were all generally around the same as those you find in Singapore. One bargain though, was Chai Poh Balls which Ivan adores. Its supposed to be Takoyaki (those octopus balls) but they put lots of salted veggie inside. He loves it! So next time, do request that for Ivan(:

We ate lots this entire trip. Lots of buffets and snacks and drinking soup and buying rubbish. We talked lots late into the night and really, it was alot of fun. The sessions were very meaningful as well. We had basically 4 sessions. The first session, was talking about the church, that while we were different, we all basically still have a major part to play in the church. The second was about feminine characteristics. That masculine and feminine does not describe gender. But rather characteristics that we all should have. A fine balance between the two. The third was on the strengths and weaknesses of Youth Ministries today and how we could work on it. The last one was challenging us to missions. A recall on how the Diocese was actually formed and how we should work on it and bring glory to God while on earth.

It was a time of refreshing, although we slept really little. The disco they had all night downstairs didn't help either. But i guess, we did learn quite alot. Cheerio. See ya guys tomorrow on Sunday. And for those poor souls who read this, will also realize the Youth Office password has changed. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

We're all off to Malaysia tomorrow morning! Its a Diocesan Youth Leaders' Retreat or something along that line. Both Joel and I have no idea what we would be doing. His incentive was like free food while mine, prolly is somewhere along that line too.:D At least I'll be with really familiar company, Ivan would be my room mate once again (thanks for the accolade of a good roomie:D) Do pray for us, for a good time of fellowship with other youth leaders as well as a safe journey. For a time of refreshing and feeding.

Just a short one here.
See ya guys on Thursday.
