My week was TIRING!But I really do give thanks to God for everything.
First of all, I completed my last 100 on tuesday!WHOOO!!Its basically a set of rifle physical training which is...very tough...to say the least and maybe an understatement.We've been doing this as a batch for like the past 3 months and yet no one's ever managed to say with confidence that he has the strength to do these exercises without fatigue.So yea!What made it even more pleasing, was the fact that everyone who started it, completed it together. No one gave up half way.
Fight the good fight,run the race,keep the faith!:)Secondly, i met Caleb,Ivan and ZhiYun for dinner.Cos well, CZY's going back to Australia..or well,even as i type this post,she should be in the air back to down under already.I'm surely gonna miss her...1 year le!my good friend!heh.But well,we had a good meal at...Holland Village Market(of all places...) and great fellowship.Super conversation at Starbucks (which Ivan missed)..Outstanding stuff.
Third thing i really want to thank God for was for His strength. On wednesday, i had guard duty at night.After dismounting from duty, i had to rush to do a Guard of Honor for the President of Lithuania at the Istana.Then from there, we received the ill news that a State Funeral had been arranged for the recently demised ex-PM Rajaratnam.So we went to the Esplanade for rehearsals till like 11pm.No rest at all mind you for 24+ hours(and no shower too eeyucks!)The following morning,we reached the Esplanade at 8am and it lasted till 8pm.So again, very very tiring.And i'm really thankful that He sustained me and gave me the strength to do everything for His glory. Yea i admit i did complain a bit la...but ultimately, as Henry reminded me,do everything for Him and it was a privilege to do things unto Him:)
Fourth, for all the people He's put around me.My mum who's always been there for me.My friends,people like ZhiYun,Caleb,Ivan and Ryan whom i can always open up my heart to.To speak freely about anything,no taboos,no restrictions,just how we feel.For Jiaho,QZ and gang.We've come a long long way:) For the people in church,they always remind me about His grace and His works:) For Joanne,for the young love we share.Her smiles, her laughter,her eyes.For the chance to guide and care for her.And a reminder to myself of my own responsibilities.:)
God bless:)
Your grace is sufficient for me!:)

Probably one of the most used passages in the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13 :4 -8:
"Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy,they will be done away; if there are tongues,they will cease;if there is knowledge,it will be done away."
The excellence of love. God is perfect,God is love and so His love to us is perfect!:)
So often we always hear, love the sinner and hate the sin. I can perfectly understand why. Christ died on the cross for ALL our sins. Not just an exclusive group of people, not only for the rich, nor the powerful but for every single one of us who acknowledges Him as our Lord and Saviour. So if God can forgive the sinner for what he/she has done, and continue to love him/her unconditionally,why can't we? God hates sin infinitely and definitely has no threshold nor tolerance for sin at all, because He is holy. Yet He can forgive and continue to love,so who do we think we are,not to love someone who has sinned against you? Do we think that we're on a higher standard than God? That we're more holy than God? Definitely not!
For people who consistently blame themselves for their past failures and mistakes, God does forgive:) As long as you learn from them, pick yourself up and see God's grace and mercy. But if after that, you keep blaming yourself and all, then its time to re-examine whether your really sorry about committing that mistake, or just in denial that your character is such that you thought was perfect.
God's love is perfect.Rejoice!:)

Well ok its been 4 days since Valentine's Day.And on hindsight,I must say that its been an amazing experience(?) for me. Valentine's Day always has and will be a commercial holiday to me..where flowers are over priced and shops do all sorts of things to earn money from ya...but in a way, its also a reminder for us to show our love and appreciation to those that we care for and those who care for us.But that doesn't mean we can all save it all up for just this one day;) its just like Christmas really:D
But this year was the first that i actually had a date. Yea u didn't see wrong, a date.A very lovely,demure,pretty,CUTE(:D),insightful and charismatic young lady. (to me at least;) ) And i did get rather bold i must say..cos her mummy said that if i do want to bring her out, i gotta ask the parents first. So yea, i did that. One week before in fact after i had placed all my bookings and stuff already. But no answer came after that very nerve wrecking week. Well but i had quite high expectations and all, so when the hammer fell and it was negative, obviously the pain and anguish i felt was doubly as hard. What mine things harder to swallow was our planned meeting on the day itself rained out due to...unforeseen circumstances.Cos well,it was a special day and we both took many many pains to prepare stuff for each other and flowers!What a waste that would have been!
So yea, i took my mum out for dinner!:) The place was fantastic from my point of view. The ambience would get a 10/10.Very small and cosy place.Very nice for talk and all.But food was rather disappointing for the kind of price you would be paying. So i had a really nice talk with my mum.In a way,she was my Valentine!And i haven't actually done anything nice for her the past years for her on V-day so i thought it was time to start.So...the food was good but not good enough..The presentation was quite terrible!Prolly cut the taste by like 30%!
And i do really thank God for my mum.She's done so much for my family and all..for my sister and i..and no amount of things i can do can fully show our appreciation to her for all that she has given for this family...prolly like without her,there's no way i could be like this today(whether that is good or bad,its up to ur own interpretion;) )And in a way,God saved my day through her!She took the extra effort,suggesting i go up to this Special One's place...And well it really made my day...
Smile=priceless
Meeting=priceless
Timing=perfect
So yea..despite that very informal meeting..it really was perfect..setting was like the void deck of her place..all casually dressed..but it was just..perfect.Hehe.I can only say that God does special things in His own way,own timing.All day long,we thought that it was impossible to meet up..but in the end,He made a way..through my mum..showing me everything that He has really blessed me with.So yep:)
Love is an everyday affair, don't save it all up for one day!It might be too late for regrets when u decide to start!So begin today!

Sunday was a most humiliating experience.Everything was fine.From the forming up of guards, minor mess up during the Silent Precision Drill Squad (SPDS) performance but everything after that was aghast.The marching off of the old guards was outstanding till the bus stop at Plaza Singapura.Somehow, the people in front of me slowed down, due to the changing of songs by the band and everything went downhill from there. The whole contingent was out of step and all.Passerbys were giggling and laughing.What an embarrassment.We took some time before we were all in step again.But this didn't just happen once.No.Twice in fact.Disgraceful.Then in the other contingent,something worse happened.No one was alerted to the fact that 2 sentries were still standing at the Istana gate.And prolly everyone was anxious to get home as fast as possible.So everyone left,without them.So after we reached camp, we realized that they were missing.So well done,everyone had to wait for them to come back.An even longer time we had to wait to go home.The end of a very miserable performance.
And i took MC today.For some persistant rash on my leg.Gave me an opportunity to rest as well.Tomorrow's Valentine's day and i do have company cohesion day at East Coast Park.Hope OC gives half day off as well.Have a great week people:) God bless!
Everyday should be Valentine's Day cos God's love for us is new every morning!

I had an outstanding day out both today and yesterday.
I watched
Casanova on Friday after my kind CSM had decided our company was super tired and low morale,thus he let us off at like 2pm.Really cool.On the show itself, i felt it was really cool. Just goes to show how hard it is to really find true love. I mean like in Casanova's case, he needed to meet over 130 different ladies (and bedding them) before he found what he was looking for in a woman. Not just her outer beauty nor her body, but the way she think,how she behaves and maybe to a certain extent how she resisted his charms and looked down on him. In the end the show ended happily of course. But well, quite sweet:) We had dinner after that. But someone ate super little! I mean like just a cake for dinner?Tsk... Great company of course:)
Then today. It started of quite slowly.But the gang came over and we had some fun playing mahjong.Stupid Slow had a good run la.Kept getting all the cards he wanted and all the flowers.Keep gaming with a lousy hand yet it was a high value game...Tsk..Had dinner at Brekos.Their food there is actually good.My ribeye spag was outstanding.Then dessert at NYDC.Well its been an eating spree for me this weekend.Better start to cut down on some of it..;)
Tmr COG...and an answer from a respectable person..Haha hope its gonna be favourable.
Have a great week people!God bless:)
